A small role for a small man. That was how Varaprasad a.k.a. Chiranjeevi began his career in a very humble way 30 years ago. It was 3 decades ago on this very day (11th Feb) that Chiranjeevi began his journey to become of the most inspirational figures in the film industry. From a mere nobody, who did not have so much as a god father to make it to the cut throat industry, to a man who had the President of India praising him for his humane works, Chiru, as his fans loving call him, came a long way.
Chiranjeevi began his career with a small part in the 1978 flick Punadirallu but it was Pranam Khareedu, in which he played the main lead that released first in the same year. It was in 1982 that Chiranjeevi broke all records with his blockbuster Khaidi, a film that introduced the new stylish action hero who danced his way into the youngsters’ hearts.
